Lower Post community members and supporters commemorated Orange Shirt Day in front of the remnants of the Lower Post Residential School. Leadership of Daylu Dena Council have appealed to the Federal Government for over 25 years to remove the residential school and replace it with a multi‑purpose cultural and administration center.

Orange Shirt Day, reminding us all that “every child matters”, came a day before Premier John Horgan was to arrive in Lower Post at the invitation of the 3 Nations (Tahltan, Kaska, Taku River Tlingit), to discuss the removal and replacement of the residential school building.
