Lacey Johnny is a Kaska Dena and a member of the Dease River First Nation. Although she was born in Vanderhoof, BC, Lacey, her mother, and her brother used to spend their holidays in their home land of the Kaska Dena Traditional Territory. When Lacey was 8, they moved to Good Hope Lake and later moved to Watson Lake for education and employment.

Lacey has experience working in the area of Administration, and in July 2016, at the Kaska Dena General Assembly held in Kwadacha, Lacey was elected as Vice Chair of Finance and Administration for Kaska Dena Council. She held this position until July 2021, where she then started in the position as KDC’s Finance/Administrator Manager.

Lacey brings to Kaska Dena Council her professional knowledge and experience, her youthful perspective, an eagerness to learn, and a deep commitment to Kaska Dena and her culture. She enjoys her free time with her two boys and family by going out on the land around Good Hope Lake, hunting, fishing, and enjoying Kaska cultural traditions.
