Liard First Nation Citizens Will Head to Polls on December 16, 2013

Liard McMillan, Chief of the Liard First Nation, has announced that an election for Chief and four counsellors as well as Deputy Chief and two counsellors for Daylu Dena Council will take place on Monday, December 16, 2013 [Note date change], in Watson Lake. “While I will not be among those running for Chief this term, I believe there will be strong candidates that can bring a clear vision forward to build on what has been accomplished over the last ten years, as well as an emphasis on new initiates that focus on housing, health, and healing in our First Nation,” Chief McMillan said.

Oversight of the election will be done by the Liard First Nation committee who can be contacted at 867.536.5200.


Mail-in ballots –

To LFN & Daylu Dena Council Members:

If you will not be in Watson Lake or in the Whitehorse area on Monday, December 16, 2013, Election Day, you can request a ballot in the mail.

Ballots will be available the week beginning November 18, 2013.
