Vice-Chair, Representing Youth
Tristan Miller is a member of the Daylu Dena Council and is Kaska Dena Council’s first elected Youth Executive – elected in July of 2021. Tristan brings with him the knowledge of both living in his community of Lower Post but also the knowledge of living off reserve.
Tristan has always been an entrepreneur at heart and explored this during his gaming career in which he became a partner of Mixer. He strongly believes in empowering our young adults to pursue their dreams and providing them with the necessary tools to do so. Tristan’s hopes with this current role with KDC he can learn alongside the Kaska Youth in what the needs are in all of our 3 BC Kaska communities.
Tristan will also continue his educational goals while maintaining his role with KDC and that is to receive his certification of a Red Seal Carpenter. His long-term goal is to start his own Limited Company.
Tristan believes that an approach to empowering our Young people has to be a balance of both modern and traditional aspects and will be exploring with the Young people what this looks like.
Although Tristan does not have a lot of experience in being a Youth Executive, he is eager and willing to learn the role through listening, observation, and contributing his ideas.
