Dease River First Nation Elections Will Take Place on July 6, 2020

The Chief and Council of the Dease River First Nation is calling an election for one Chief and four Councillors for July 6, 2020.

Due to COVID-19, safe practices will be put in place when doing the elections. DRFN will be practicing safe distancing during Main Election Day.

Election is being announced early so that we have time to address advance polls and how it will be done.

PLEASE NOTE: Election day has not changed just the announcing of it.

The Chief and Council of the Dease River First Nation is calling an election for one Chief and four Councillors for July 6, 2020.

Nomination Candidacy packages will be available by June 8, 2020, and can be picked up at the Dease River First Nation’s main administration building in Good Hope Lake.

Included in the Nomination Candidacy package is the following:

  • A notice of Election
  • Nomination Forms
  • Proxy Forms
  • Regulations for Custom Elections

The Nomination Candidacy forms must be SEALED and there will be a sealed box it can be dropped into at DRFN’s main administration office no later than 4:30 on June 19, 2020 – for Electoral Officer.

Advance Polls will be held via proxy dates and location will be posted in the Yukon News, on the radio and in the community.

The General Election date is on July 6, 2020, and will be held in the Dease River First Nation main administration office in Good Hope Lake, BC.
