In March 2019, the Indigenous Leadership Initiative (ILI), the BC Assembly of First Nations, and the federal Department of Environment and Climate Change hosted a very successful National Indigenous Guardians Gathering in Vancouver, BC. More than 300 Indigenous Guardians from coast‑to‑coast‑to‑coast met to share ideas, hear presentations, and advance the creation of a National First Nations Guardians Network. Several Kaska representatives attended.

Here are some excerpts from presentations at the Gathering from a news story about the event including from Kaska’s own Dave Porter.
